Public Outreach

June 2024 and 2025 - Roman Fest - Chester House Estate, Wellingborough, U.K.

A collaboration with the Northamptonshire Archaeological Resource Centre, Chester House Estate, and The University of Leicester, where I ran a stand with the centre's volunteers to teach the local public about basic osteological analyses (e.g. biological sexing and ageing strategies, and examples of paleopathological lesions), and explaining the importance of this type of research.

Two volunteers standing behind a table with plastic bone replicas. One of them is holding a femur and hip bone.

June 2022 - Great Exhibition Road Festival - London, U.K.

Collaboration between the Tobacco, Health, and History Project and the Forens-OMICS project at the yearly Great Exhibition Road Festival. Here, we organised and ran a stand discussing different methods of ageing human remains, ranging from skeletal age estimations to aDNA and proteomic analyses.

A group of researchers stand behind a table speaking to visitors about different archaeological methods.
